I have to remember to get something for everyone: mama, papa, sister, brother, nieces, grandparents, cousins, aunts, friends....but where do I draw the line? Do I have to bring a piece of Seattle and America with me to share with them?

Of course, then I will have to think of taking care of things here: the apartment and paying rent, fall quarter appointment, my project and giving both my advisers updates, making sure my intern has materials to work with while I'm gone, BAYAR FITRAH, etc.

Then the passport, I-20 (I got my travel signature last week, planning ahead there). Making sure that I have my documents intact before I leave so that I can come back.

Packing: I dont have much to take home for myself, but I still need to make sure I have clean clothes here when I get back. And not having my own washer and dryer at home is not easy.

Oh, dont forget to clean up the refrigerator because I dont want things to start growing in there. That means that I will have to eat out for a bit so that I dont overstock groceries. Eating out is....it gets boring and expensive. Urrrgh.

The list goes on and on. Please remind me if I forgot anything....

The day my interest in F1 suddenly dies

I do not have many more reasons to continue being and F1 follower. BMW announced that it will no longer participate next year as their performance this year has not been outstanding.

And the worst news of all, Schumacher is making a comeback to take Massa's spot while the Brazilian recovers from his recent accident in Hungary.

If you didn't already know, I kissed my lifetime dream of working in the industry goodbye a while back when I realize that I cannot deal with the frustrations of not being the first team to cross the chequered flag.

My silk dress

I love my silk baju kurung, it is so elegant, comfortable, and especially soft against my skin. However, it is expensive and very delicate to maintain. If I dont wear it right, it will start to rip near the hems. It must not be in contact with liquids, or otherwise the prettiness will be ruined.

See, my silk baju is a luxury. It's not something that I can wear everyday, its reserved for special occassions. So, my previous silk baju, with all the tender care that I give you, will you last forever?

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I think I'm ready to move back to Malaysia.

Time to retire

I think there should be an age limit to when people can work in this country. Old people who could barely even hear, walk, talk and see should be out of the office. Otherwise, they are only going to make other people's life difficult.

I have had a few personal experiences with older superior at work, where they claim that they sent emails (but I never saw any email) and not receiving my email (when I had sent it 3 times) and not able to hear me when I speak. That's it, time to go. Retire and give someone else your job...your salary is probably something that the department cannot afford to pay anyways.... so take time off and yea, dont work on Sundays too!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

40 things about myself.

1. It's at least 20 degrees warmer in Malaysia and 30% more humid than it is in Seattle. This makes Seattle a perfect place to be (72 degrees Fahrenheit, 50% humidity).

I will rally for my parents to dig a basement in our house now so that it will be ready for me to move into this February. That way I can cool myself and not be too dependent on AC.

Thursday, June 04, 2009

Age: 25, weight: 87lbs, number of relationships.....

Ok, not trying to be Bridget Jones here. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. There I was, sitting next to my boyfriend, and a random guy decided to play a trick by throwing a fake spider into the hood of my jacket. Imagine if I had been on the bus by myself.

Now I'm just going to complain about how messed up airline companies are in the US:

I was not able to check in online but some other people on the reservation were. When I asked the woman at the check in counter, she was not able to give me an answer.

Apparently it costs money to check in luggage at the counter. I thought that's included in the fare.

Apparently passengers have to provide their own earplugs to fly. Wow, these guys must be hella broke.

Flight attendants snap at passengers to get them to straighten up their seats and tray tables.

Most flight attendants are cranky, not to mention old. Compare them to flight attendants on Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines....those ladies are so fine and friendly.

Why do they have to make our flying experience so bad when flying is already bad enough.

By the way, these old and cranky flight attendants always think that I'm some 12 year old flying. Please don't address me as "hun" or "sweetheart" coz I am neither of those to you. You can call me miss.
